Since it was past time for a general website update here, and I almost never blog, I thought I’d showcase a few of the sites that I’ve built over the past six months. I like all three of these projects because I was basically given full control over the visual designs. Always a treat.
Jan McGiffin
Janet McGiffin is an author. She already had numerous published works when she contacted me to make here a website to promote a four-volume young adult series she had coming out. I built her a full-width site in WordPress, with modern news publications as the inspiration.
Scarlet Rivera
Scarlet was Bob Dylan’s violinist for much of the 1970s and is a prolific performing artist in her own right with a long and distinguished career. She had a static website that had become outdated and onerous to make changes to, so I took much of the existing content and made her a WordPress site. There’s an emphasis on news and blogging, and I had some fun making custom imagery and galleries.
Scarlet’s career has been so varied and she operates within so many different genres that it presents a challenge to encompass all of her works in one website. Work continues with that in mind, although the new site has launched.
Prime Time Media
Neisha Cohen is a talent booker who works with a ton of A-list media outlets and personalities from CNN and David Letterman to Ice Cube and Random House. Her website was already built in WordPress with a premium theme, but she wanted it updated converted into a single page site.
This project was a blast because I got to play with and learn a premium theme, many new plugins and an extensive stock image library. I also utilized AI text generation for the first time to help with the copy.
